Our School opened its doors in 1968 and since then has provided a stimulating and creative environment for the education of young children. We have a friendly and safe facility with a wide variety of activities surrounded by caring and enthusiastic teachers.

Included in each of our classrooms are areas for art, science, and play. We also have a separate music and creative movement program . Our children enjoy playing in both our outdoor playground and our year-round indoor play area.

We encourage frequent communication between parents and teachers and meet for conferences during the school year.

Cathedral Nursery School has an open door policy, and admits students of any race, color and national or ethnic origins.  Cathedral Nursery School is chartered by the New York State Board of regents.

STAFF
As individuals, our staff is warm, friendly, skilled professionals fully qualified in the field of Early Childhood.   It is our policy to encourage our staff to attend ongoing workshops to keep updated in the changing world of education.

Our foremost responsibility is to provide a safe and healthy environment. By encouraging children to explore, experiment and create, we offer programs thrust result in a happy and fun experience for all.  Each child's specific achievement may well be on different levels, however, the process is designed  to be positive and dynamic in order that all may have a good feeling of self and find this first experience to be fun-filled and rewarding.

As your child learns, matures and works with others he/she gains a sense of purpose and responsibility.  Play enables your child to explore social relationships through individual and group experiences during this important transition from home to school.  Supported and challenged, your child will develop a love for learning under the guidance of our experienced teachers.
